NICEIC and ELECSA Apprentice of the Year Awards

NICEIC and ELECSA Apprentice of the Year Awards

Our electrical apprentice Matt Jones has finished in third place in this year’s NICEIC and ELECSA Apprentice of the Year Awards.

Matt is currently working for us as part of his apprenticeship training and is a valued and popular member of our team.

He was one of eight finalists from more than 650 apprenticeships that applied for the awards that recognise the talents of electrical apprentices across the UK.

Before reaching the finals Matt had already competed in two stages of the awards, which began in October 2017.

The first stage of the contest was an online exam comprising of a variety of questions relating to electrical installations.

The top 20% of performing apprentices then progressed to stage two which was a written hour and a half examination and the final eight were selected to take part in a series of practical tests at the competition sponsor Scolmore’s headquarters before the awards winners were announced at the Belfry Golf Course in Sutton Coldfield.

Finishing in third place overall, Matt received a host of prizes including a £250 holiday voucher.

We are incredibly proud of Matt’s achievement and will continue to invest in offering quality apprenticeships for talented young people who will have the opportunity gain the skills needed to play a fundamental part in our future growth.
